2 PA's in a Truck Bed?

I was wondering if anyone has built some sort of frame to stack 2 PA's in the back of a pickup? I have a Harbor Freight hitch stand for hauling 1 PA but am curious about what to do for 2?

Looks like a sweet setup. Do you know anywhere I can pick one up in the Denver area? I'm leaving for a 1,500 road trip this coming week and could use one!

Doesn't look to be any dealers in your part of the country, I would contact them by phone or email and see what it would cost to overnight it due to your time constraints.
Be advised your looking at close to $400 plus shipping for the complete system.

$400 is about 2x my budget! Holy smokes I hope they sell some at that price? I looked at my Harbor Freight bed extender and it would be possible to add tubing to the ends that form a rectangle for the back mount. The kicker would be to find corners that would work. It would be super easy to fasten 2x 4's across the back of the bed so I'm sure I wouldn't pay somewhere over $100 for a back cross piece. If anyone has any other ideas for a reasonably priced double kayak mount for a pickup bed please let me know!

Man, I don't enjoy lifting these yaks any higher than I have too. My first thought on this thread topic was loading them next to each other slightly angled somehow. When we go camping and take all 3 yaks(PA14, Ocean Trident11 and an old Hobie) I put some PVC in the bed stakes as a poor man's ladder rack to load the lighter kayaks above the PA and that leaves me a little room on the side for other camping gear and ice chests, etc. But I have a 8ft bed so I really don't need a hitch extension.

I just found this thread, and thought I would share our setup for hauling 2 PA's 600+ miles from KY to FL and back:

The picture bowhunter shows is what I used to use to haul my two PAs on the over/under configuration. It works great and is as economical as you can get. However, you will find, as I did, that lifting the upper PA gets to be quite the problem. Once loaded like this, all your other gear has to be loaded inside the truck, or risk losing it along the road somewhere. If you have an adult friend to help the loading, it helps, but I was taking my 12 yr. old grandson and he couldn't help lift that high so it was just me loading by myself. I finally bit the bullet and got a used jet ski trailer and went to a side by side configuration. Now, I just back down the ramp, give a slight push, and hold onto the bow rope just like launching any other boat. Recovery is just as easy, too. Even an old, single wide boat trailer can be configured side by side, and many of them can be found for little or nothing. Good luck.
