Here's a forum about pressure washers on fibreglass. MBounds caution seems to be appropriate. But if a wide tip is used sufficient distance from the surface then it could be OK.

I got all this stuff from Google, I have no personal experience of dealing with a problem of this severity.

I buy up old boats - part out - repair and resell. I have powered washed (3000 psi) all the boats that come in and have never damaged any.

If you shoot decals they will come off - I use it to GET THEM OFF - as they're unsightly.
If you shoot areas of damage (cracks in circles) you will blow off the gelcoat in those areas (that are already damaged) they need to come off anyway for repair.

Don't shoot a tramp CLOSE UP.

If you shoot it on a 45 angle works better and safer than straight on.

I have had tree stuff from one night on my decks - LOOKS AWEFUL and really have found nothing to get it off. But it disappears over time and use - in about a week.
I'd power wash it then use it. The water and sun makes it go away on my boats.
