Hey all, I have been a long time lurker but not much of a poster. I recently started a new hobby making little 7" H16 figurines. I made one for my girlfriend a few years back and everyone that has come over to our house has loved it and wanted one for themselves. I figured I would listen and made a bunch of them. I made a post in the classifieds on this forum and feel like my peoples are in this section more. My welding background is automotive performance products and my graphic design schooling just wants to make stuff that looks cool. So I dabble in other stuff all the time and found something i really enjoy! Making Hobies!

I do plan on expanding my lineup to include a taller cat and a smaller and larger sized monohull. I am also getting the itch to build some sailing inspired furniture using blocks and cables and turn buckles. Anyways, thought i would drop a line to you guys and let you know what i am up to.

Give me a visit at http://www.facebook.com/sailingsteelco
or... www.SailingSteel.com

Thanks!!!
Ari

So I am about 1 year into my venture. I have just received an order for 12 trophies from the Western Australian Hobie Association for their national championship event for the year!!! I am super excited to know that some of the best Hobie Sailors will be holding my work! I am supplying just the trophy tops and the bases will be fabricated in Australia. Here is a quick pick of the 12 before shipping.

I can guarantee that I can get these out for Christmas if I get the order before December 8th!

Do you have the ability to engrave text on the sail for use as a trophy?

Also, when clicking on the link in your first post, it says the web site domain has been cancelled.

This seems to work (at least partially for now once you get by the domain name expiry warning) - Cut and paste: sailingsteelco.wordpress.com

Oops, I guess it has been a year and two weeks  I let my website expire accidentally. I have updated the first post to lead you to my Facebook page along with the link right here...

http://www.facebook.com/sailingsteelco

And yes I can get them laser etched for an additional $7.00 per piece. I can put the etching on any sail or hull.
