Am planning a trip to Rancho Leonaro in August and using their Hobies. Anyone out there with experience of suggestions?

I have fished that area extensively over the past 5 years all the way up to Bahía de los Sueños. Start working out your biceps and wrists! Ive taken a 70 lb Wahoo (king fish), a 65 lb Roosterfish, a 35 lb. Yellowfin tuna and a 45 pound Dorado (Mahi Mahi) in an outback one year (no marlin yet...). If it hadn't been for the mothership I would still be out there. The Wahoo towed me for an hour. Lots of sunscreen and good quality spf shirt and pants as well as a floppy brim hat. Don't wear shorts! Even if you use 60 sunscreen you will burn. I used my kitesurfing seaspecs sunglasses so I wouldn't lose them if I flipped and they make a good polarized lens.

Thanks for the input.
Specific ?s. Do you haul your Hobies or rent them? If rent, where and contact.
Believe you on getting in shape. I had full open-heart surgery last June. That knocked out my entire summer kayaking. Five months later, and after 36 sessions of rehab, am just getting to the point that I would feel comfortable in my PA12, as long as very limited paddling was required. Even with a foot of snow on the ground and all our lakes frozen for a month, I still am really restless to get out, so looking to go to Baja as soon as cardiologists will clear me.

Did get OK for elk hunting, and got my elk, but friends had to do all the hauling and cutting. (Sometimes being delicate is not all bad!)

Would appreciate any specifics/contacts on Cabo area yaking and rigging.

You can rent fairly inexpensively from Ranch Leonaro as part of your package. Look up Ventana View enewsletter. Put in an ad to rent or borrow one as that is the off season there and you will probably get several responses. Trailering can be a pain as you get fleeced at the border especially if you go down thru the mainland and take the ferry to La Paz. Having said that I prefer my own kayak as it is set up for me and I don't have to worry about taking care of someone else s stuff. I am taking mine down in November to circumnavigate Espiritu de Santos.
