Instead of starting a new thread every time I sail I figure I'd create one thread and ad to it. We just got our TI last week and it seems we will get a lot of use out of it.

Our most recent trip was sailing and exploring around Honeymoon Island state park and down to Caladesi island.

We tried sailing north to the top op of honeymoon island, but what little wind there was was right on our nose. Instead we tuned south and sail to caladesi island where we had lunch and did a little shelling. by dsrphotography, on Flickr

We sailed back on the inside through St. Joseph sound. The conditions were very choppy and we brought the sail down due to an equipment malfunction on my part. by dsrphotography, on Flickr

Love the photos! You guys are certainly enjoying your TI.

I'm at our home on Anna Maria Island and made a huge mistake of not getting out yesterday. It's just not a pleasant day today.

Yes the weather is the same here. We were going up to the springs but it's too chilly for me to be out on the water today.

Looks like a great trip.

Where did you launch your TI? Is trailer parking okay on the south side of the Causeway?

Thanks for the post.

We launched just south of the small bridge that leads to Honeymoon island. You can park a trailer on either side of the causeway.

Today we decided to go south and check out the Ft Desoto / shell key area.

Thanks for putting up the great pics! Got me psyched. Just got an Tandem Island and will be in your area (Indian Shores) for month of February and sailing it around the area. Looks/sounds like you can launch off causeways in the area.

It'll be on a Trailex aluminum trailer so if sand is hard, no problem hand launching from beach. I've used the trailer previously with a Trinka 10 sailboat.

Will I need any kind of local boat registration/license or launch permit?

Any other tips?

Thanks

Banded Tulip, Horse conch, Whelk, Olive, Sunray Venus Clam, Pear Whelk - lots of great shells and a wonderful place to fish, sail, and explore. Glad you finally got to do it!

Yeah the shelling was pretty good. Here is another shot after some cleaning.

Another sail to Shell Key. Well Sail might not be the right word..There was just enough wind to keep the sail from collapsing. This time I brought the chairs which was nice.

Spent Saturday exploring the Spoil Islands Around Dundedin. The wind was pretty crazy and there was a small craft advisory so we had the sail reefed in quite a bit.

Domromer:
The reason we got into kayaking in the first place in 2007 was because a lot of geocaches around here are only accessible by kayak. Www.geocaching.com is their web site.
It's a lot of fun
