Hi all, I'm having an issue with my rudder that seems to be getting worse. When the rudder is deployed it seems that it won't stay down. I've had to resort to pulling on the down lever with my right hand all the time, while using my left hand for the rudder controls. If I don't keep the rudder pulled down it slips up and doesn't work as effectively. It looks like there's a groove where the rudder latches into the hull (see attached photo) and the rudder doesn't stay in that groove. I hope that makes sense. Any help would be appreciated.

The image has a copy right, so won't show.

Is this an Island? or just a standard kayak? Islands have enough sail power to cause the rudder to pop up. There is a down line kit that replaces the lever on older model boats.

You can tighten up the down line.

Both can be seen on our support pages here: http://www.hobiecat.com/support/

There are rudder adjustment guides and one specific to the lever type.

I took off the copy write, hopefully it works now. Sorry, this is a Mirage Outfitter. Do you think it's an issue of tightening up the "down" line? My concern is if I over tighten it I won't be able to pull it down.

Watermark removed and the picture has no other protection. Not sure why it isn't displaying :(
Well, hopefully you get the idea.
