I am glad that I found this forum. I have had my Hobie 16 since 1981 when I got it from my Dad for my 18th Birthday. He had it for nine years before giving it to me. My sail number is 81. I have seen some of the newer pictures of Hobies today and am amazed at how they have changed with the main sheets and all. Yet underneath all of it is the blast of having the best boat on the water. People ask me if that is my actual sail number or if I removed numbers, the numbers there are the originals. I am glad I have my Hobie. Thanks for the many pleasurable years of sailing.

Wow! Yours is even older than mine! (Hull 3404/Sail 3403) I'm still learning lots about mine. Good luck to us both! :)

GEEEEZ! Here I think of my '84 (sail# 82453) as an old boat! It just goes to show you how durable the Hobie beach cats are. A lot has changed on them, though. The new hardware is lots better- I'm slowly upgrading mine. The jib sheeting system kind of went in a circle, the older and newer are better than mine!- Dave
