Gotta give Hobie Cat Company a shout out for the awesome ad in the April issue.

Flip thru the mag and a full page H16 pops up. "My life My Hobie". Read the small print "Hobie has a way of reminding you that it really is your life to enjoy."

Very well put. Thank you Hobie Cat for 35+ years of FUN.

In the words of my sister Anne, spoken around the bonfire at the Fleet 204 Labor Day Outing, "HobieCat been, berry, berry good to me."

You mean Karen Sikora? Not her. She has red hair; the person in the ad is a brunette.

Pretty sure those photos came from a photo shoot done last year in Sausalito, a few weeks before the 16 North Americans. Notice that every article of gear they're wearing is Hobie brand - from the hats to the harnesses.

The people in the TI are Ben Brown and his mom, Dafna.

I'm having a hard time liking the pic of the 16. Maybe it appeals to non-sailors, and maybe it looks better in print than it does here, but it feels cold. The clothing is too dark so you lose detail in the heart of the picture, the crew looks uncomfortable, and the boat looks overpowered.

The TI pic, though, is really nice. Makes me want to be there!

There's a new ad in the March 2014 issue that immediately caught my eye. Very cool. I think its from the same session as the last one, but the coloring is warmer, and the crew is decidedly having fun with a nice fist-pump. OK on second look its not a fistpump, but definitely not white knuckled!

Tagline of "You belong on a Hobie" is really good too. Nice job!

Jeff
