Does anyone have a spare one of these off of a traveler car?

I'd throw a couple of bucks your way if you do. I'd stop by the local dealer but he closes at 5 and I never have time to get over during normal store hours.

My current setup has a mini block attached to a pad eye in the mast track.why can't I just use that pad eye to connect the bottom block of the 6:1 downhaul? I know it's not technically class legal but other than that is there some practical reason to use the traveler car part?

Can't you call your dealer during the day and have him send it to you. Most likely, he has it in stock, then your system will work properly and you're not presidentializing it.

I guess I could give him a call. He generally isn't very helpful, especially with such a low dollar item.

I hear you there, we get the same great service from our dealer. I look up the number before calling to make it easier to get the right part. But he is close to the lake making a Saturday afternoon broken part fixable for Sunday.

I finally found the part. I bought it from the dealer in Indianapolis when I was there for a weekend wedding.

Here are pictures for those who are curious:

I think it may have slid up a little...time to break out the file and make a notch to keep it set.

Slightly old topic but relevant to me: I'm going to move to a 6:1 and I see there are actually several downhaul systems listed in the 2013 catalog I'm looking at.

  • There is the 2089 6:1 kit looking like it uses Carbo blocks.
  • There are the metal-frame 228/231 blocks
  • There are the metal-frame swivel/single/double blocks as components of the "Power downhaul system"

Zach's setup looks like he used larger blocks and the lower does not have a becket, so I assume that is not one of the three systems above.

Why so many systems? Are the second two listings just replacement parts for earlier versions? Is there any reason to buy the 228/231 over the 2089 kit?

I pieced together my system using parts that I had in my parts box. I had to improvise to get 6:1 without a becket. Still works perfectly fine though.

Zack, any chance you can give us the part number for that part you were looking for in this post? its the "eye saddle" that slides into the mast and locks down with the square nuts. I'm looking for the same.
thanks,
Mike.

It's 11870000 Deck Plate in the H14/H16 rear crossbar diagram.
