Where is the two feet length difference at? A buddy that wants to get a new PA asked me this question and I don't have an answer for him.

I don't own a PA12 but it's my understanding the difference in length is in the decking area. The front floor and rear cargo floor areas are not as long and a little narrower on the pA12 versus the PA14. The PA14 is basically 13 feet 8 inches. The PA12 is 12 feet. Also the PA14 has 2 more inches in width at the middle of the boat.

I don't believe the rear rudder area behind the rear cargo deck is any different in size nor is there a difference in the area of the front hatch. PA14 gives you 2 more rod holders and 100 lbs more weight capacity.

Both are great rides. It depends on what your needs are.

While facing a similar dilemma i came across this video that should pretty much answer all your sizing questions:http://www.youtube.com/watch?list=PL98BD738B6BC32DFC&v=5LMAGGC-lNQ
There is a quite comprehensive comparison between the PA 12 and 14.

Front storage is larger, more room in the back too. My last seasons demo was a 12 and I loved it. This season I got a 14. I am amazed at how much better the 14 handles. It tracks better and feels easier to peddle. Because it sits a little higher I guess. I carry it in the bed of a Ranger pickup and it works great.
