I'm looking for 1 crew of any experience level to sail on my Hobie 16 with me this Saturday, 6/21 at Lake Guntersville, AL. Probably launch around noon and spend a few solid hours on the water. Weather permitting, of course... fingers crossed.

Or any other date or place in AL. I don't see many other cats around here, wish the scene were bigger...

I feel your pain..... for lots of other cat sailors sailing other regattas, shoot for the MS gulf coast or east coast from where you're at for big events and 20-30 boats sailing together if possible. I'm a few hrs away but i'd think you'd get 20 boats for a well planed out regatta! Talk it over with area committee guys to avoid potential snags and $$$ surprise fees.

I wish the hobie scene was bigger too, hard to compete with FaceBook for kids.......

Would you be interested in a regatta in north MS in fall? Like Broken Mast regatta from the 90's?????

Tim, I'm definitely interested and don't mind driving a few hours. My skill level and boat are not competitive, also don't have a Hobie class legal boat. I'm in for having a good time with other folks sailing though... although I'd still probably be in the same situation looking for a crew member.

I'm a new Hobie owner and have a place on Weiss Lake near the GA line. I'd love to get together with you sometime. Every time I can head that way from Atlanta the wind seems to die out, but I'd love to get together with another Cat sailor in the area. Hopefully the fall winds will pick up soon. Send me a message if you're interested.

I just wanted to follow up my old thread to basically say thank you to all the friendly people on the forums that I've talked with and met. I've had successful outings in Panama City Beach (thanks to Tim Beachum), and Arkabutla Lake (thanks to Tim Grover and DSA). You guys offered your time and experience to help me out, and even spare parts when I had issues.

I'm still looking to gather more Hobie Cat interest at my "home" sailing at Guntersville Lake and/or Wheeler Lake... maybe that will come with more time.

Thank again, you all are truly living the Hobie Life.

I hope you find some more sailors down there. A longtime friend of my father's lived on your lake for years and years; I remember tubing there as a child.
