I bought a 2013 pa 12 demo that after nearly one season vantage seatis starting to tear from the seam on one side. I'm around 180lbs and don't believe my weight is issue.

The tear is about a half inch, but getting worse.

Anyone else having similar issue?

Will hobie warranty cover? My dealer Sw kayaks -havasu is awesome. Highly recommend them. But 2.5 hours from Vegas and don't want to be w/o use of boat for a week or so. Should I make dealer aware and take in at the end of the year ?

My seat showed the same tear along the seam. Actually in two different places. Hobie replaced the seat cushion with no questions.

Had the same issue with my 2013 Pa vantage seat, contacted my local dealer and had a new seat cover waiting on me within a week.

My pa12 warranty ran out last week but not before I ordered my second seat replacement. I hope hobie will stand by their product in another 12 months when I will need another if the last 2 years are any indication to go by.
I do not fish excessive amounts and I am no where near the rated load of the seat.

Changes were made to the seats long ago... you should not experience the issue again.

Excellent customer service received on my tearing Vantage seat. One week ago I simply sent my local dealer photos of the tear, the hull # of the PA and all of my contact information.

Last night when arriving home there was a box containing the replacement seat webbing directly from Hobie.

Very pleased.

Hi Matt.

I just saw a tear in my 2013 PA 12 on last Saturday. I have a sand color and having a hard time getting the serial number. I'm thinking about using sharpie paint over the number and quickly wiped it with alcohol and hopefully the number would revealed. Any suggestion?

Regards.

Thanks Matt.

I still have the receipt so that should help. I moved a few months ago so hopefully the nearby dealer won't give me a hard time.

Thanks once again.
