Shock Cord Tramp Lacing Kit installation question

I ordered Hobie's Tramp Lacing Kit (part #2064), but it didn't come with instructions. Would anyone have the instructions, or know how to tie it off aft?

All of the instructions I've been able to dig up pull the lacing through the last grommets more than once, but my grommets are too small for that. They fit the lacing snugly as it is.

Thanks for the link, but those instructions show going through the aft grommets several times. Since the cord is 3/8" I barely goes through my grommets one, let alone three times

I'm starting to wonder if I need to put bigger grommets aft or use some rings/shackles to create larger holes.

You may not have enough space to double or triple up through the grommets with 3/8 shockcord.. You could use a short loop of line.. Or even thread it back under itself instead of going through the grommet..... but......

I wouldn't use shock cord... Hobie kit or not... A nice properly tightened Trampoline is a MUCH nicer place to be, and make the boat more enjoyable to sail by keeping it a bit stiffer and more responsive...... That nonsense about shock cord keeping anything tighter because it stretches is nonsense... You would be better off with cheap line from the hardware store IMO...

My choice would be some 5/32 or even 1/8 inch Amsteel Blue... Then run it however you want to minimize the pull on grommets in 'wrong' directions. Latest hot tip I heard is running the line between the first two grommets near the mast around the Dolphin Striker... It takes the rearward load off tramp right there should ya have an older tramp, or just want to get things really tight.

Just throw a ratchet strap around the siderails.. Squeeze them in a bit... Pull the line tight.. Let off the Ratchet and done.... No big deal.

I like the shock cord tramp lacing. I have discovered that if you apply tension to the cord it decreases in diameter enough to squeeze the end of the cord thru the grommet again. I can usually get 2 runs thru a grommet.

@GDavies: what's the inner diameter of your grommets?

I would need to measure to be sure. It is a blue vinyl Hobie tramp. I will try to remember to check tonight after work.

I just measured and the tramp has 9/16 ID grommets. The same as the #4 spurred kit I bought from hobie.
