I should have the motor this weekend, I'll report back my opinion on the kit. I am sure I am going to love it, especially when I pay off my credit card!

The eVolve has its benefits and I can see mounting it at the stern of the boat using the ball mount that is bolted down. Using it in place of the Mirage drive would eliminate the use of both together and make the eVolve subject to grounding. If I mount it on the back it can kick up if it hits anything and the Hobie rudder works in the normal manner.

I have a good idea of the range and speed with the eVolve alone but would like to know the practical speed when combining it with me pedaling the Mirage drive. It I could maintain a steady 6 MPH instead of 3-4 MPH it would make it faster to get out and to get back. It would also help when their is a strong tidal flow greater than 4 knots and I want to maintain my position in the current.
