I did search , but didnt quickly see what i needed . I need to transport a Hobie 14 i just purchased . I'd like to do this on the back of my pickup , as i don't have a trailer (other than a tandem axle car hauler i can borrow) . Roughly what does a Hobie weigh with the mast , boom , etc removed ? Can it sit on 2x6's placed across the truck bed ? Any help , or point me to a link , would be much appreciated .
Thanks in advance .
Doug

The stripped down frame of a Hobie 14 should weigh less than 200 lbs (minimum weight of the whole boat is 240#, although older boats often weigh considerably more than that - in the 275# range).

8' 2 x 6's will be fine - make sure to pad the ends and watch for flexing (the middle will want to bend upwards - good to have a line to restrict that).

Moved the Hobie yesterday , worked great sitting on 2x6's . Didn't move at all . Kind of a
pain lifting it up , but would be easier with 4 rather than 3 .
