Still researching boats, and the Getaway is still in first place for our specific needs. Looking at the photos on Hobie brochure, it looks like the wings fold up for transport. Is that right?

Some of the "roads" down here are pretty narrow. Also new garage door is 8 ft. wide, hence the question.
Thanks

Yes, the wings fold up. There are two pins on each wing that you put in to either hold them out or up. You should just fit an 8 foot garage door.

Mind you that to fit a Getaway on a trailer through an 8' garage door, you'll have to move the trailer by hand.

I don't know anyone who could "drive" a 7'10" trailer through an 8' garage door in reverse (unless you have a pass-through garage) without some major repair work!

The garage is designed so that I can drive straight through one half of it. Its an 8 ft. door, at the moment. We havent broken ground on the house yet, waiting for contractor bids. I have been considering changing one of the three garage doors to 9 or 10 ft. Also looking at getting a bigger power boat, and 8 ft. beams seem pretty common.
