New Hobie Seats?

Sound like HObie hit another home run!!!! Keep it up.

Thank goodness for the new seat is all I can say! I kept trying all the usual workarounds waiting for this.

Has anybody noticed the Idler Wheels (I think that's what they call them) on the new 2015 Drives? Two different videos https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=jYMUzq7uYeo and https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=GWZKEbaR68w show the new drives, but one drive has the traditional single Idler Wheel while the other has dual Idler Wheels…

As a soon-to-be AI owner, I'm *thrilled* they changed the seat. Don't know how you guys with the standard seat do it, I can't stand it. I nearly returned my Outback over it. Just a few minutes with it and my back was KILLING me.

I prefer a more reclined seat position when pedaling and more back support, perhaps thanks to my recumbent bicycle time. I found a seat made by Skwoosh that has the same tall back as the recumbent seat, then played tinker-toys with some PVC tubing to make a back support that sits in the rear well. The Outback now has a nice, solid back at the perfect angle (same as the recumbent bike) and I can pedal or just sit for hours and hours.

My current frame won't fit the AI's rear well so I was looking at making another version of my back rest, but now (hopefully) I won't have to bother - and can reclaim the storage space. It'll also be nice to keep my butt dryer. When I go wave-hopping with the Outback I quickly wind up sitting in a deep puddle!

Dual idler pulley is only for the PA17 reversing drive. Forward seat can be turned 180. Drive can be pedaled from in front of the well.

New blue fins are just ... Blue. ST length is the standard mast. ST Turbo requires the longer masts.

I'm waiting for my Surf to Summit GTS Expedition for my 2012 Oasis. Age and a bad back has made this seat upgrade a requirement.
