We started with 3 feet of fiberglass (3ftx1ft) then cut it down to two 3 foot long 6 inch wide strips. We wrapped the bottom, then continued up the tube, overlapping each wrap by half the width...so it's like wrapping a hockey stick, you overlap it a bit for added strength.
No, we used the exact formula for the resin...you could lengthen your working time if you want, I don't see that being a problem.
For coating it, use two pairs of rubber gloves and a long sleeve shirt, you literally scoop up the resin with your hand then massage it on around the tube and fiberglass.
