I have been using my non-waterproof camera the few times I have been out. I bought a waterproof case for it, but it is so cumbersome and prevents free movement of the zoom lens, I am looking at waterproof digital cams from Pentax and Olympus. I was hoping to get some input about experiences anyone has had in this regard.

I have been using a Sony with the Sony case for it for over a year now, in the ocean almost every day. Works great.

For boats only, not diving too, I would look at the new little Olympus waterproof to 15 ft.

I use the pentax optip w 10. Works great, 6 megs easy to use, a 1 gig card and I can hold like 300 pictures at 6 megs, and shoot good video, under water too! took my card down to CVS the other day and use there machine to pint off picture, within 2 min I was done and out the door, could not ask for better quality pictures!

That pentax is a nice camera. i also like the Olympus MJU720. 7 megapix and waterproof to 3 meters vs. the pentax 1.5 m. Also shockprotected from a 1.5 meter drop. Can handle 1 gig chip.

I've had the Olympus Stylus 720SW for a few months now and I'm quite happy with it. It has been under salt water many times with zero problems. I also like the shock resistant claim though I haven't tested that as yet!
