Had the TI in the driveway today and noticed one of the aka knuckle pins had nearly fallen out! This is the steel pin that the knuckle hinges on. The other three are tight, I can't (easily) push them in/out, but the fourth one is VERY loose and I can easily slide it completely out and in.

So what's supposed to hold that pin in?!?

It's been awhile since I looked, but I believe under one of the plastic side caps there is a set screw or push pin that keeps the knuckle pin in place. Yours may be missing or has back out.

Yep, finally hit the right search terms and found a previous thread about it.

Just checked and mine never had the screw installed. My dealer is going to steal one from another aka in their shop for me...

I'm just glad the thing didn't fall out while I was on the water!

Guess I should give all 4 of mine the push test.

Of course the set screw needs to be in there and tight, with either blur locktite or possibly double screws (if there is room). I also had one come loose a while back (I don't like suprises). I took a ball peen hammer and bashed in the hole a little at the bottom only, so if the screw does come loose again, at least it won't fall out (gravity). Obviously the pin can now only be inserted from the top)
( crap I forgot to mention that in my video on how to harden a TI)
