PS I feel your frustration with Hobie. I love the company and the history, but at some point, perhaps in the past, they need to move to the future. A lot of upgrades that we buy aftermarket should be standard at no extra cost.
READER CAUTION: Rant to follow - please ignore -more or less off subject Like Detroit and it's cars. When the Japanese companies came in with feature loaded cars, serious and lengthy warranties, and almost nothing extra to buy, American manufacturers continued to sleep at the switch. I bought a Jap car in 86, and paid nothing for alloy wheels, sunroof, dark glass, premium sound system etc- there was nothing to upgrade to ! If I bought a similar priced American car, I swear, the tires and steering wheel were extra!! GM still had over 60% of the car market then. Now Toyota has 47% and GM has 25%. All I can say is that it is probably a good thing for Hobie that the Asian market has not started making a competitive cat.
No offense guys. I have already stated my case for Hobie to become the new "Henry Ford" of catamarans in another forum
Oh yeah, Happy New Year!
