Hi,

I visited with Hobie this afternoon and they suggested that I post a request for video clips of the Hobie Adventure Island under sail from other forum users. They have produced a dealer promo DVD, but putting clips on the Hobie web site has not been a priority for some reason.

There are a couple clips online shot from the cockpit looking forward, but it would be great if someone could post a short video shot from shore or another boat so those of us in the frozen part of the country can see how she performs under sail before we place our order.

If you have a video clip of the Island under sail, please post it for the rest of us!!!

Hobie if your listening, how about updating the web site soon?!!

Thanks,

Craig S

Hi Craig,

nice to see you made it on the site - I've asked Matt to convert some of the promo vid we have and post it up - he's currently working on something for you...check back soon.

You ask and you receive...

I created a short Adventure Island video clip. It is linked from the product page and is here:

This is only a web video. We will be creating a more complete piece in the future.

Nice video, i had sailed my loved AI only 3 time till end of December when i've received it and i'm impressed because you really need very little wind to do that kind of speed you see in the video, if you see a flag barely flap (say 6-8 knt) than you can sail!
If there is no wind at all ? No Problem the Adventure is a great Kayak too just leave AMAS,AKAS and mast on the car roof and pedal away !

THANK YOU HOBIE !

PS: Tomorow forecast is for 11 knt from SW I'll be at Charleston Country Farm public landing (near 526 Ashley river bridge) at 1:00 pm ;)

Jacques,

The video is very helpful. Some shots of the yellow model with her sail colors would be a nice addition, perhaps showing both boats racing.

Does Matt have any footage like this that he can add as a second video clip?!!

I just need to decide on the color and I'm ready to go!

We are limited to the footage we have on hand only - in order to get new shots we'd need to go out and shoot some new video (sounds good to me, we're always looking to hit the water and get out of the office!) not likely to happen right away though....right now we're all super busy and I'm not sure there are any photo shoots coming up.

I'll put a request in with our marketing director to get some better shots during our next shoot.

I do believe there are still pictures of the papaya Island

Here's a shot of two of us racing - but we were only taking stills this day... sorry - but we were flying!

Craig and Hobie ppl -

although I have the Windows Video player, the video on the Hobie site, just mentioned earlier, just downloads a page of characters and kicks my computer out of whack.

The other video links on this site and others seem to work OK. I just would really like to see some videos of the Islanders in action and I think Hobie is unaware of the download problem. Maybe some other video format would work?

John

Hey Matt and Jb,
Very nice video to come up with and put together on such short notice. Great job, and it is but another excellent example of how Hobie responds to its customer's input and wishes.
Thanks.
Dick

Jacques,

Just wanted to let you know that I picked up my RED Island this afternoon. I can't wait to try her out! She should be the first AI in this state, at least sold by an in-state dealer.

Put another pin in your map!

Craig
