I stumbled upon these little tethers; small carabiner on one end, split ring on the other. Stretches out to as bit over a metre
It is hard to go past $AU 6.81 for FIVE!

EDIT: I am told by some existing users that the metal in the split rings is dubious stainless, so I will swap them out for proper stainless as they go off. Still a bargain though, for small items.

Amazon has all kinds of tethers & lanyards. I was looking for something a bit more substantial; something that would tether a large dry bag, cooler, etc. to my AI/TI. This can be found on Amazon. The link: http://www.amazon.com/Ergodyne-Squids%C2%AE-3100EXT-Tool-Lanyard/dp/B0001VO2WU?ie=UTF8&psc=1&redirect=true&ref_=oh_aui_detailpage_o02_s00

I seemed to have lucked into a deal when I got it. I got 4 for US$7.84. Now the price is US$7.96/each. In any case, they are sturdy lanyards and should keep my gear from floating away in case of a capsize.

Tony, I like the tether and prize but not available in the US.
I'll order one showed by chekika. I'll use it for my dry bag.

The tether shared by Tony is in Amazon. Found it just now. I bought 2 but won't get it until June 24.
