The swells were up a few weeks ago in Socal. I hesitated until 8am before I went out fishing. 5-7 feet in El Porto and 2-4 in Malibu. What to do?
Got outta there. Stayed in my neighborhood, hoping that yesterday's rains and this morning sun will make for a productive day.
Seems like some people are afraid of the swells.
Here is a shot of my new kayak installs. I'm very proud of the clean work I did
I also made a new 10 cell AA battery pack for my FF. Seems to give me more power and images.
I couldnt keep the fish off my custom painted Reef Runner. It got hit quite a few times, and in the end, the fish ripped the lip off the lure. I wont be buying these again as its not thru wire contruction.
First victim of the day. Released.
Caught a couple more pancakes sized halibut.
Farmed a white sea bass at the side of my kayak. I was trying to take a pic without taking it out of the water. It spit my swimbait at me.
And thus I exacted revenge on its brethren.
All the WSB were caught on the swimbait on Big Hammer Bay Smelt. A personal recommendation b the owner of Big Hammer Lures. Trolled with an occasional tug. They hit on the tug.
Totals. 4 halis. 2 legal, 1 juvy and 1 farmed WSB.
Legal schmegal. All fish released.
