thinking about buying a 1993 Hobie SC. the asking price is $6000 - the boat is in excellent condition, but I can't tell if the price is too high. Does anyone know the original price on a 1993 21' Hobie SC? Would love to know before I make an offer.
Thanks! :)

Don't know about 1993. But the last ones we sold in '04 went for about $17k.

For what it's worth...last year I bought a 97' in near mint condition for $6K. No accessories like a motor, motor mount, tent or jennaker. Just the boat, wings and trailer. I think I got a pretty good deal, but to be honest, I didn't look it up in the Blue Book either. I also had to drive 1200 miles r/t to pick it up.

Good Luck!

I paid $3500 for my 93, with a motor, a tent and a trailer. Then I spent $500 rebuilding the trailer. The boat needed nothing but a good cleaning and the trailer rebuild. I think alot will have to do with the local market and the availability of boats.

Good Luck,
Dan

Just a heads up...there's a 2000 year model SC listed here in the classifieds.
