i have been reading all the post for the past few months while i have been sanding and painting. I have always had a Hobie for as l can remember and in may got my first 16. Well my question is, are the lower rudder castings specific to the prot and starboard gudgeons? the assembly manuel says "identify the right rudder assembly ( green sticker) and the left one (Red sticker) they must not be reversed." And since this is close to a 30 year old boat best i can figure Sail #30523. the stickers are long gone.
any help would be great
thanks in advanced
Greg

The reason there is left & right rudder hardware is to keep the rudder toe in at an appropriate level. Put them on one way and you'll have several inches of toe in. Put them on the other and it'll be very very small, which is what you want. :)
