I mean if Jim Sammons can have his Baja Fishing Club why not us.
Tiger suggested it. I don't mean Mr. Woods.
Hobie Shark Hit Club!
While not near as un-nerving as Dan's Adventure Bean Hollow Beach encounter with a GWS . Clearly he is the Grandfather.

Mr. Tiger paid me a visit today. So post here when you have been hit!
Launched from Honokohau harbor today.
Meet Flash washing up and got some VERY fresh o'pelu.
Had a brand new hull to try out. Not a scratch on it. Recent Hobie replacement for the dreaded well leak.
15 minutes later I had deep gouges. Maybe Matt will provide another new one!
Tiger hit me about 5 minutes north (pedaling a yak at 3-4 knots..em
that's..forget it)
Felt like a log hit me. While I debated getting camera, or paddle out to wack 'em he took off. Looked like about a 7-8 foot tiger. Very thick bodied.Pretty sure I was aterritorial bite at the time. But maybe not. See below.
I continued on north checking for leaks every 5 minutes. Two strikes, a weak sticky. Then a big one. Ono? Took out some line, stopped and took off again. Figured I had 'em so wound in my bait rod as I thought I saw some jumping and had put out a King
Killer.
Mistake! Lost fish.
Uneventful going north to energy lab then straight out to where most boats were trolling.
Tougher getting back against current out of south, and while wind was great for sailing still have not replaced my sailing rig although found I could order Sidekick parts.
I reported the incident to Aquatic Resouces. They sent me over to Charlie with DLNR.
They want details. Some stupid SOB's are rumored to be feeding sharks to attract tourists who want to shoot pics.
That's with dive boats all over the place (counted 5-6). Not too mention 200 outrigger guys and gals that paddle OC-1s &2s out of there. Plus the boys surfing Pine trees, snorklers, etc.
Had I been dumped I would hunt those rumors down. I may be old but I can still punch someone out!!
Aloha
Dan
