My family has been sailing around the Alton Bay, Wolfeboro, Ames Farm area of the lake for nearly 30 years. Originally owned an 18, got out for a while then back in with an 18sx and now a Tiger. Usually sail with a friend with a Hobie 21 near Ship and Moose when its blowing 12 and over. We're always looking for new people to sail with and love to sail with other Hobies in circles around the mono's

My brother and sister in law used to go to Winnipesaukee (hereinafter to be called Lake "Winni" :-) and sail all the time. They had a Hobie 16 for a couple of years, but found that their Mariner 19, with the little cuddy and ample cockpit, was a little more suited for the size of the lake and for gunk-holeing along the shorelines. I have heard that, if you straighened out all of Lake Winni's shoreline, it would go around Lake Ontario. I don't know if it's true, but if you look at the map, I could understand it.
Happy Sails -

I used to boat out of Gilford marina as a kid (Uncle had a Trojan 42 back in the 70's). I went back in 2004 and rented an old Pearson 26 from Fay's marina, and will never forget how incredible it was to sail on the lake. Absolutely gorgeous scenery, it is an amazing place. Enjoy!

I sail on Winni quite a bit. I am based off of lake Opechee in Laconia. Normally launch at Ellacoya, haven't been out yet this year though. I also get down to Fl and the Chesapeake a few times a year too.
