G'day from Australia

I thought I'd pop my nose in here to say g'day (thats Aussie for good day) and give a quick shameless plug for my website. I'm currently touring the coastline of Australia with a Hobie Revolution and kayak fishing my way around. Wherever looks like a nice place to go fishing, I'm doing it. I've been on the road for about a month and expect to take around 2 years to complete the adventure. I'm writing about the experience on my website, with photos, videos, trip and destination reports, blogs and articles.

I'll definitely return from time to time to let you guys know how I'm going.
Area61, I did have a spare part kit but you'll never believe this - it's the one damned thing I managed to leave behind and no one back home can find it. Fortunately I haven't had any problems I can't fix yet (I try to keep checking the miragedrive every few trips or so) but I will get myself another spare part kit for sure.

We don't drink Fosters here in Australia - we only export it. Actually, the stuff that is exported is known as crown lager here. You can buy fosters in Aus, but it's not the same fosters that you find in the states. I'm a Coopers Sparkling Ale and Jack Daniels man myself. I don't know single aussie who drinks fosters.

Ganiom... very clever:-) Actually, I started my prep in an Outback, but decided on the Revo at the last minute. I very nearly went for the Adventure, but in the end decided it's length might prove a liability in some areas. So far I reckon I made the right choice.

A hearty welcome to the Hobie Forum! We will be looking forward to hearing more about the trip as it progresses. Your note about Fosters reminds of an English lass I met on a backpacking trip in the California Sierras. She had never heard of an "English" muffin. Best of luck to ya mate! I admire anyone who sets out on such an adventure, spare parts kit or not!

I'm in Hervey Bay right now and thought it worth mentioning because if ever you guys ever come here for a holiday, be sure to come here and go kayak fishing. It's awesome here - best yak fishing in Aus I've seen. Not just the fishing either - the sites are amazing. Dolphins, Dugongs, Sea turles, humpback whales are all here to see. Here's a couple of pics from my past few days exploits:

Glad the trip is going well. Great photos. It would be nice to be able to keep track of your travels by tracing your route with a map of some kind.

Great site and ambition. I have been doing feasability of similar trip here in states. Key west to Mexico fishing all the way.. Found some great sponsors but am trying to decide on the trip or a kayak fishing series ( tv show) .

I'll be on your side of the equator end of next year and will give you a shout if you can be found. I'd love to share notes about the travels and catches and maybe shoot some footage or at least some bull.
