Back in the day, I used to sail Hobie 16's and Sol Cats. I now live in South Florida with a good size lake right behind my house. When it gets windy, I always got the urge to go sailing. So when someone in the next town was selling a Bravo, I picked it up, a real good decision.

I can get it ready to sail and push of my back lawn in minutes and have tons of fun. Sure it doesn't have the thrill of the bigger cats, but it doesn't have the work either.

One thing I've been considering is a Boom to improve off the wind performance. I have all the rigging available, but was wondering what diameter the boom actually is? Has anyone ever made their own, or has everyone just purchased it?
