Have any of you installed a 2nd set of spinnaker sheet blocks, such that you can recommend an anchor point for attaching them?
Some of the NF18s & N20s that I sail with have them attached via an eye strap riveted to the rear side of the front crossbar, similar to what is implied by the sketch on the Harken web page:
http://www.harken.com/rigtips/formula18.php
I have a 2006 Tiger, with the trampoline below the front crossbar, so I guess that the rear of the front crossbar should work. But, if I am going to drill holes in the crossbar, I would like to get the location right the first time!
Also, any recommendations for a make & model of block that's better for this purpose than two Harken 2625 57 mm Carbo Ratchamatics? Those appear to be essentially the same as the single set of spinnaker sheet blocks that was on the Tiger when I bought it.
Also, those NF18 & N20 sailors refer to the 2nd set of spinnaker blocks as "sissy blocks". Is that common terminology? A less judgemental name would be nice!
In any case, we have cut short our racing day due the crew's fatigued hands, and they say the 2nd set makes a dramatic difference, so I've promised to put a set on our Tiger.
Thanks for your help!
