Does anybody know of any good places to drive on the beach and launch a cat off the gulf side of Galveston Island or the Bolivar Peninsula? Thanks.

East Beach is always good. However, I would suggest going to the West end near Bermuda Beach, Jamaica Beach or Pirates Beach. A little less populated with regards to weekend warriors and drunks.

Thanks. Last summer I drove down West Beach for the first time since I moved from the Clear Lake area 20+ years ago. It's really grown up. Do you have any favorite access spots where you drive on the beach and launch?

Nah, I would say just get past Bermuda Beach. There are plenty of free public beach access points down that stretch, It might be best to get as close to San Luis Pass as you can, it really opens up then. I wouldn't go much further than Sea Isle... Good luck!

There's also Cat Alley. Its down towards the west end off Pabst Road on the gulf side (I can't remember which beach access point it is). You can't go wrong anywhere on the west end, though.
