Here is a great story that was posted originally over on the Kayak Fishing Stuff Hobie Forum by a poster from Texas. I have edited it slightly, but the basic thread is the same as the original.
"Took my wife's Outback on its maiden voyage New Years Day. My wife isn't very comfortable with a paddle, but took to the pedals and rudder like a fish to water. I was in my Necky dolphin, my 15 year old was in his Spike, and my 11 year old in his WS Riot. Mama took the lead with the Riot in tow while my son and I fished the banks of the channel: paddle, cast, paddle, cast... I finally put down the rod, and quietly paddled along side my son in the Riot. My son grabbed my front hatch strap and I set my paddle down and picked up my rod. We were both in tow, and my wife wasn't even aware I had latched on. It didn't take long for my 15 year-old to see what was going on, so he slipped along side the Riot, and was also in tow. My wife towed us probably a quarter mile before she finally looked back and saw what was going on. Those things will definitely tow."
How's that for a great Hobie family story to start the New Year??
Best to all,
Dick
