I'm going thru my process of deciding whether or not to step-up & buy us a Oasis(wife & me)has anyone tried thee big sail from a Adventure Island on a Oasis rigged with the AMA's all the performance I've heard of about the Oasis is impressive whether peddled or sailed with the small sail hopefully some of you out there are as curious as me and will give it a try if my plan works I'll wind-up having to rig out 2 Oasis's as one will be for so-cal and the other will be a island hopper.

The island sail will not work on any other kayak. It attached totally different.

Well bummer on that subject, I just wanted a little more sail power for a Oasis for range reasons only to be able to make my island hopping dream a reality but I'm sure range will be more than acceptable with the standard sail and the option turbo flippers proppelling us along still wish there was a 2seat kayak similiar to the Adventure Island.

I have seen some posts somewhere which showed a mod for the Oasis which mounted a 2nd mast base tube via the screws that hold the forward hatch in place thus turning the Oasis into a schooner (2 masts - same size)

I think that must be an excellent addition as it will provide more sail area per kg of ballast than a standard sail on a single kayak & I would definitely make the mod if I had an Oasis - unfortunately my double is an Outfitter & doesn't have a front hatch nor space for a 2nd mast base so I will have to make a jib instead :-)
