During the infamous Yacht Club scene (hey! You scratched my anchor!) There are a LOT of Hobies cruising the lake.

Yeah, I just watched it and started to try and count but totally lost track. 8)

I just saw an H16 in a Radio Shack commercial that shows Santa relaxing after Christmas. Near the end. Check it out! 8)

There's also one in a Beaches resort commercial. You can't see the boat, only the sail with the H on it. :)

Saw the Beaches ad. It made we want to get there ASAP. This is funny. like Apple computers, you see them all over the place in movies and shows and even daily 'toons (Jason in FOXTROT and Zonker Harris in Doonesbury both use i-Macs ) :) even though few people seem to own them.

 If you happen to be a Sea Ray owner, you probably receive the very upscale "Sea Ray Living". This is a Quartely Publication for Sea Ray Owners that covers reports of Sea Ray events, and owners activities. The latest, Winter 2005, on page 42, shows the Haugland Family with a Wave on the beach. "Shown here putting a rental sailboat though its paces-"We took that thing WAY out," says 12-year old Paige--during this year's Chesapeake Bay Rendezvous,..."

"To observe the strong family spirit, you need only look at the transom(a 48 ft Sea Ray 480) where you'll find Sponge Bob Square Pants smiling beside the boats's name, Sea Digger, holding a shovel-tying the family excavation business to the kid's favorite cartoon show."

I just watched the first season of OC on DVD while riding our ski bus. There is not only a scene in the first episode with a H16, they actually use the H16 in the opening credits. Cool stuff 8) even if the show is kind of lame

I'm pretty sure there's an 18 in the beach party scene from the Princess Diaries.

This may count. Our Hobie, with my sons in it, made it into the closing credits for a season or so of UNC-TV (PBS) "North Carolina Weekend" show - A call went out to send in NC vacation photos and this was one selected among others. This is at the west end of Oak Island, NC.

I Love that scene in Caddy Shack. Not sure if there were Hobies in Jaws 2 though. There was a Sizzler, A Tornado, and Sol Cat as far as I know. I lived in Destin Florida when some of the scenes were filmed there. I remember seeing the boats on a truck and big bite marks/chunks were on the hulls of the cats, saw that on Eglin Parkway in Ft Walton Beach. Good times!!!

Sizzler was the one with flames, actually says "Sizzler" on it.
Sol Cat was the blue one with waves on the hulls.
Tornado was the "Green Machine" .

There is a scene where Chief Brody is in the tower on the beach ringing the bell telling people to get out of the water and there is a H16 on the beach. It has white hulls, blue and orange jib, white main with a panel of blue with the familiar flying H, and has an orange trampoline.

Whats next?

Spongebob The Movie! Opening November 17th.

We haven't seen it yet, but they used a Hobie Getaway in a scene. I think Spongebob gets bumped off of a bouy or something.

I love Sponge Bob :)
