Has anyone tried to fabricate "lifting strakes" on the front of the ama's to give the ama's a little extra lift as your speed under sail increases. They would be similar to the "winglets" some owner's have fabricated on the rudder tips, except longer.

I've wondered the same thing. And while were at it----has anyone tried adding an inch and a half keel the lenth of the ama for better pointing????

Lift always comes with a cost in drag. I doubt strakes would improve performance.

Canted daggerboards in each ama would probably increase pointing ability, but who wants to mess with them when we have a Mirage drive for going upwind? ;)
