I finally took the dive. there was a 21SC that was for sale an hour from my house in Egg harbor that i saw on ebay. I was planning on low balling the guy. but after seeing the condition of the boat i went ahead and offered his asking price without delay!

I take delivery next week after all the checks have cleared. And without further Adue introducing "Flying Under the Radar" as we have decided to name her.

I sailed a H16 for several years and sold it in 1992 to pay for some remodeling on the house. Well, I got rid of the house and the wife with it. :)

I recently picked up a '93 21SC that is in good shape, just needing some minor repairs, tramps, and TLC. A few more weeks and a few more bucks and I'll be ready to take it to the water. It should be a whole new experience being able to put a few people on the boat plus not being on the verge of pitch-poling all the time.

I've got the Cheata mount on the crossbeam, but I don't have the extension piece. Is there anyone out there that can send me the measurements of arm length, and transom l,w,h? I'd like to put it together with a new Honda or Yamaha 4T.

I'm in Stuart, Florida

Where are you going to sail it, Elf? I'd love to see that on the water!

I guess the great egg harbor bay is the best place to take it out. Its nice safe water. I have sailed out of bay cats a few times down there in Ocean city. I'm not sure where the public boat launches are and i'd love to find a little restaurant i can sail up to down there as well. But i think that will be my first area to explore.

H081ECAT: is this extension piece something i would have on my boat? i do have the full motor mount. i could take measurements if u like.

Kennedy Park (just south of the Crab Trap) in Somers Point has a public ramp. Others are on Tennesee Ave in OC, and for ocean access, Corson's Inlet State Park between OC and Strathmere.

You could probably sail up to Crabby Jack's (outside at the Crab Trap). If you wanted to do a bridge opening, you could try the Inlet (old Waterfront).

Elf, that's it exactly. Except I'm missing the important parts. If you could take some digipics of the extension arm with a ruler included for scale, that would be awesome. I need overall length of the bar, placement of the pivot hole, and size of the motor mount plate. I assume that the rod is solid 6061-T6 aluminum.

I've looked around a bit trying to find parts for the Cheata mount, but to no avail. Luckily the base is already attached to my boat.

I saw your boat on ebay before the auction ended. It looks very, very nice from the photos and the write-up was incredible. You're a lucky guy!

Will do. do you need the measurements of the top arm or the bottom? I'm a bit weak on my phraseology, but when i get it here tomorrow i will take some good pictures of it for you.

I'm looking for detail of the piece that the outboard clamps on. It looks like your mount has a piece of wood attached. I'll need to make the parts from the wood to the mounting on the rear crossbeam.

Can you give me measurement of:
(1)pivot arm diameter and whether it is solid stock or tube
(2)overall length of pivot arm from boat end to motor mount plate weld
(3)distance from pivot bolt hole to motor mount plate weld
(4)thickness of motor mount plate and thickness of wood
(5)width x height of motor mount plate with indicated placement for pivot arm
(6)lastly if the motor mount plate is attached squarely on the end of pivot arm, true 90degrees

That should give me everything I need to make the rest of the mount I'm missing. I appreciate your help with this.

I'm really enjoying the play-by-play as you come to terms with your new boat. I'm a ways behind you in getting mine to the water, but I'm listening closely!
