hobie 17 in great shape for sail but no sail!

I am the current owner of an '84 16 in Madison, WI
I love browsing boats and taking a look and whatnot though. Anyway,
I have been eyeing up a nice yellow hobie 17 sitting on a nice trailer found on craigslist for stupid cheap and the pics look really good. I think it's the unisail because no forward bar? Also, somehow there is no sail or boom. I wonder what you guys think of it and if someone would want it. Really, it's stupid cheap and sail/boom still might make it a killer deal. What do you guys think? I probably don't need to buy it as I have a 16 in nice shape but it's a wonder...
Let me know what people think?

I see spreaders on the mast and 18 wings... could it be an 18? Do you have more pics?

It is an 18, this is actually quite obvious as the boards are daggers, not centers! Wow, this deal get better and better.

Any other thoughts? I should maybe post in the 18 forum I guess.

It's definitely an 18, and 18 magnum to be precise. From the early 1980's or before.

Its an old 18 - Just a heads-up / The old style rudder castings and those wings are no longer offered through Hobie Cat - so you'd have to upgrade the rudder casting parts if there's any issue with them. Other than that...I'm sure it would be a fun boat - best of luck!

I mean, it's at a retarded price but I'm not sure of the overall condition although it looks good. Where do you live, it's near Madison, WI which might be a trek for you. I also told another friend who might be interested in it. I would have picked it up if I didn't already own a nice 84 H16 which I can easily singlehand. I feel like an H18 might be too much boat for singehanding with my smaller stature (5' 9" 140ish). I am working on building a righting bag system so I can go out on windier days without fear.
It does look like a nice boat; let me know how it goes.
