The more mast rake you can run the better your H16 is going to perform. You will point better and the boat will have less tendency to pitchpole!! I would put your forestay in the top hole and the sire shrouds down as far as they will go on the chainplates. You read somewhere that one side shroud should be in the top hole when stepping the mast, this is because you need the slack in you rig for the forestay to reach. Once the mast is up pull on the tripwire on the side that need to be tensioned and pull the slack out and pin the shroud down lower, reverse for de-masting . The H16 performance manual is a good book that talks about how to rig you boat for speed, I know I know your just a casual sailor but it is still more fun to go faster.
