I am seriously considering a Getaway and I would like to keep my Getaway in a very long car-port at my place down by the water. Obviously the mast is not going to fit. Can it be easily lowered?

It is a piece of cake with 2 people. By yourself it can be done but is a little dangerous. I used to do it all the time by myself. The trick is to put the mast up with the boat tilted forward. So when the mast goes up, gravity will hold it in place so you can secure it to the roller furling jib.
