I recently was given a 14 Hobie by a neighbor (long story). The biggest thing that needs to worked on is two holes in the outer hull. One hole is about an inch, the other is a little smaller. Any suggestions on what to use to patch them?

There is alot of products to fix your holes. I would do searches on fiberglass repair and read up on what will work best for you. try here for starters

If there are access ports it may help, I would also check the decks for soft spots. " Delaminated parts of the fiberglass " ,and flip the boat over and put a bead of waterproff epoxy around the edge where the fiberglass are sandwiched together.
