Boat originally had black lettering for the 500 and other script, and black non-skid. I was thinking that Hobie did two of them for additional marketing, but I don't know what number was on the other one (maybe 500 also?). That might be my old faulty memory, though. I believe this one ended up in Annapolis, where one hull was damaged in a storm. Mated up with a hull from a boat destroyed in NY harbor

I had #499; rumor had it that it was built superlight as a test bed to see how light they could get #500. It was a SHARP looking boat when it was new (I saw it at the local dealer either before or after the Nationals), but scratches show up on the red gelcoat (white underneath)
