ah man, the guys in "portoroz bay"! I'm thinking, get a little further off shore, in some cleaner air, and when they do they stuff it! You see the daggerboard fall out? Now, that was an expensive ride! What do you figure F4 - F5?

It was blowing pretty good. The funny thing about that pitchpole is the boat was recovering, as in it had popped back up, then the crew went flying forward pulling the boat over.

Just a note about the video of me sailing the FX, which i have sold by the way. Thats another story about kids and sailing.

That is a Tiger/F18 blue spinnaker on the FX. Light winds that day and it was moving pretty quick.

The boat did not handle well with that spin though. It seemed sluggish and did not respond well to the helm. It was also more difficult to jibe.

If you were to go with a bigger spin for fun, it would probably need to be cut for the boat.

The Tiger spin was fun to try,but in a blow it would have been ugly.

Damn Jerremy every time i see that video i want to run out and buy another FX. :P

Quit tempting me with that video, I have a couple more years till the kids are out of school and off to colledge.

Heck i may even come down and race some in your area if i get another FX. At lest there will be some one to race against.

Oh ya, sorry for bailing out of the FX class.

Some day i will be back. I love the boat.

I don't know what to believe from you anymore Mike.

Well, now you can race the FXone two up, so you could come back to the fold and have a two up boat as well......

and my small fragile world crumbles before my eyes. *sniff* *tear* *sniff*

You better sell it to someone willing and able to go to the Mega! :D I'm going to feel pretty stupid if Lee bails, and I have to race myself, 1783 miles from home, for a week.

I am finally an FX1 owner (bought Jeremy's yesterday - thanks Jeremy!).

Karl, I am going to try to make it to the Feb Havasu event; but with four kids, a business and a hectic schedule, I am not committing for at least a couple of weeks. By the way, where is the NOR posted?

I am looking for a trailer for my FX1- any locals (Norther CAL) with a hobie trailer for sale, please let me know.

*Big* difference between the 17 and the FX, can you say "learning curve"? I am looking forward to a great year of sailing!

Peace,

Dan Peake

Way too go Dan!! Congratulations!!

Jeremy, better get another one for yourself.

The Mega is in November, as a business owner myself, I know planning for anything is tough. I just try to remember priorities, and that is sailing is more important that eating or keeping a roof over my head. So I'm a little odd....

Check out http://www.havamega.com/ that'll give you info on both the Mega, and the Hobie/Havasu reunion regatta's.
