I own a Pro Angler and wish to put a Bimini Sunshade on it. I purchased the sunshade and mount from Hobie. Now the question is where to mount it. The instructions for the mount recommend the rails except the pro angler is to wide. That leaves the deck. Is the deck strong enough to hold the shade or is there a better way/place to mount the sun shade. :?:

Please post the picture here, too. I am planning to buy a Pro also and will use it in the Gulf of Mexico. Having a shade, something I had not thought of, would be a great amenity! I'd like to see how you've done this!!

Thanks!

Ray

It mounts behind the seat just like the other kayaks as the mount is fully adjustible. I'll try and post a picture - but it is the same as on all our other models - just in front&inside of the rear rod holders on the PA though.

Possible location for a Bimini Mount on a Pro Angler.

Yesterday I mounted Bimini on my Pro Angler 12. I used YakAttack - GT90 GearTrac .90 "Wide, 4" long & FullBack, for GT90 GearTrac 4" for base. I attached the stand to the base with MB15-6 MightyBolt ™, so it can easily be removed if I decide to use Livewell.

Dang, that is a really neat umbrella; will it also fit an Outback?

Here's a video in which we put a Bimini on Hobie Mirage Outback.

Sure you be a nice fix if the Bimini Sunshade had a 360 white light at the top of the curve and could be seen all around the yak... Good Luck
