Announcement .... Announcement .... Announcement.

Rock Hall Yacht Club's Annual One-Design Regatta, and "Down the River Race"
will be held on June 19th, 20th and 21st, in Rock Hall, Maryland.

RHYC will again host three days of sailing/racing on the beautiful Chester River. Starting on Friday, June 19th w/ the "Down the River Race" starting in Chestertown Maryland at the Chestertown CC & YC, and finishing at RHYC. This is a "run what you brung" race w/ Hobies, A-Cats, Lasers, Windmills, Comets, (Traditional) Chesapeake Log Canoes .... competing. It is followed by party at RHYC that evening. The race is approximently 12-15miles long.

On Saturday and Sunday RHYC hosts a "Buoys" Regatta, the classes this year for Multihulls include a Hobie 14 (HCA-NA SANCTIONED !!!!!) One-Design Class, A-cat class, and "Open" Class.

This venue (in our opinion) is the finest small boat/dingy racing venue in the mid-Atlantic. RHYC is a excellent facility w/ a large grass field for boat assembly/set-up, a sandy protected beach for launching (we also do have two hoists if you wish to launch that way), plenty of space for FREE camping, a Bar/Resturant, bathouse w/ outdoor showers .... and a POOL!!!! (for the support crew). The race site is close by with-in site (1m?) from the clubhouse, protected waters, w/ good breezes and minimal powerboat traffic

For additional information/pics/directions, NOR and pre-registration please review our website: http://www.rockhallyachtclub.org

This event usually has approximently 80-90 boats competing w/ 30 of them being beach cats ....

The PRO for the Multi's course will again be Mr John Macielag.

Please note this will be the ONLY sanctioned H14 Class start in Div11 before the H14 North Americans in August. Also RHYC will be hosting a "Div 11 Hobie Points Regatta" on Sept 26 &27th. If you were not at last years Hobie Points Regatta at RHYC this is a perfect opprotunity to come and use the RHYC facility and familiarize yourself w/ this venue. (find out for yourself what the buzz is about)

Hi Guys and Gals,

Well its going to happen .... we have (5) H-14's with their ol' farts .... how about some of you "youngsters" ( 15yrs or less "Hobie Cating") coming and showing how it's done.

And for added incentive and since this is the only Div11 H14 event this year .... at the Spray Beach Points Regatta last weekend I was handed the ..... Div11-H14 "High Points Perpetual Trophy". It will be presented this weekend to the H14 Class Winner.

Now as this is the last local Regatta before the H16 Youths/Womans/Open some competitors are taking the opportunity to sharpen their skills .... By my count we have a Youth NA Champion, a Womans NA Champion (multiple times?), a Canadian H16 Champion, a National/NA Champion (multiple times). And thats just their records on the boats they're registered for, for alot of these people are/ (and one will be...) "Past Champions" in Multiple Classes.

So if you don't want to be behind these guys and gals at Kingston you may need to come to Rock Hall this weekend .....

And don't forget the Div11 H18 sailors as some of the best of that class are coming also ....

Or you just wish to check out the venue before the September Hobie Points Regatta .....

How about a H21SE .... we would love to see some of those .... I do remember those beasts fondly .....

So Pre-Register before 12Midnight tonight to get the "Cheap" rate before it goes up $10.00
