Any suggestions on what to use as a tiller extension cover on a pre-EZ loc system? Will the foam grip on the newer generation fit?

When I bought my Bravo (used, pre-EZ Loc) the tiller extension was a fiberglass rod, and I'd get fiberglass splinters in my hands. So I purchased some clear tubing from Home Depot to cover it. I then took a golf ball, drilled a 5/8" hole 3/4 of the way through it. Then glued it on with JB Weld. That was over a year ago and still holding strong.

Oh yea, it was a Titleist.

Another cool idea. I was out for the first time this afternoon with the Bravo...and something has to be done with the stock pre-Easy loc extension...it's slippery and awkward and the cap kept on popping off...yuk...
