I've had the chance to rig up a few Pro Anglers for our customers and also our demo boats.
The customers wanted basic stuff: fish finders, ram tubes, etc...

So far the left side rail is the most requested spot for the fish finder

On 1 of our demo boats, I opted to put the fish finder in the sail mast. Then I added ram tubes to the side rails.

I launch in the dark a lot and wanted to make sure my vessel is seen. I mounted a red/green bow light operated by a switch in the cockpit. Then I placed a Scotty stern light in the back.

Ivan,

Are you fishing Saltwater or Freshwater.

An anchor trolley system would be beneficial for lakes possibly.

For saltwater, I use drift chutes. On the Pro Angler, I tied a hobie drift chute to each of the side rails. It works great.

When you come by the shop, I'll show you how we rigged ours and you'll be able to get a good idea of how to rig yours.

Nate

how often are you using those from rod holders? I've held off on my boat, not sure I need any up there.

We use them all the time for trolling, drifting, temp storage while dealing with fish, etc. Some of our techniques have us working two or three rods at a time and it's a constant rotation. I can't fish without them. :D

By the way - we're surf launching the Prangler on Friday with some waterproof cams on the boat. We'll have the videos up Saturday.

Steamroll, We just got our first shipment of PA's in last night. I was trying to research the best FF location. But I dont think there is any better spot then where you have it. Just like to add a hint. When we use the padeyes to secure a wire we only install one rivet. It holds the wire just as well but allows you to remove the wire easily without drilling out a rivet. Its more functional when used on the deck to secure the wires between the FF and first hole but it comes in handy wherever you want to keep something out of the way but might later need to remove it. By the way what are those clamshells you are using to seal the holes?

Self tapping stainless screws would have worked too as a removable option.

I'm using a 2 wire - wire cap like these

What brand are they? Are they priced reasonably. I found some for $8 apiece I thought that was to high. Maybe you could email me the source. Thanx.

$8 sounds about right

Ancor's wire seal is $16

Cable Clams are $18

This is a cheaper and cleaner alternative

I dont like how high the rams rod holders are so we put a short piece of abs plastic up front. I use the tube up front when working on my line and to get rid of the rod out of my left hand when landing fish to my right hand.

Barrell,
Looks like a good idea with the plastic pipe - but doesn't that interfere with carrying rods horizontally or plano boxes on that side?

Where is the best place to go fishing in the ocean in Rhode Island? I am trying to find a place to go salt-water fishing in Rhode Island. I called the Fish and Wildlife Service and did not get a good answer for a place to go fishing in the ocean. Also, I did not quite know how to categorize this question, there really didn't seem to be a proper place. Thank you in advance for your help!

I have seen your videos and they are the best. I actually just bought a Pro Angler and your video was one of the main reasons I decided to get one. It was very informative and entertaining. If I lived on the West coast I would have bought it from you. I just wanted to thank you for all the rigging ideas in your vids and pics. So far I have only mounted a camera mount via a ram wedge and an anchor trolley. The PA comes with so much stock I could get by with just what I have added. I may do a FF and if I do I want one of your kits. I will fish it a time or two and decide what I may need if anything.

For the previous 3 years I have fished a Ride 135. It has been a very good boat but I wanted a mirage boat so I could fish more efficiently. I introduced a friend to yak fishing last year and he asked me what kind I would get. At the time the Outback looked like the way to go and after my suggestions that is what he got. I took it out fishing one time myself and I had been fighting my urges off the best I could. I decided I was going to get a Revo cause I liked to paddle too but the more I looked at the PA the better I liked it. I test drove one and brought it home. If the Revo had a little more storage/ room it would have been a harder decision.

I will post some pics of my first Reds, Trout and Flounder soon.

Thanks Again

I really think the bow light is great! It looks like it was made for it .
