I am looking for a wind indicator for my Getaway. I have been told that the adapter for the roller furling is no loner available. What are we using out there? I believe that the Getaway is a major player in Hobie Cat's market. Why do the not have a ready solution?
No worries
Paul

One cheap solution is to hang a nut on a short piece of thread and tie a piece of caset tape to the nut .

One of the seasoned sailors in my area helped me out with that by giving me an old Led Zepplin Stairway to Heaven cassette. He said to tie some lengths of tape in the middle of both furler bridle wires. Matter of fact, he tied them on for me and they work great. Not sure if other bands will work as well

I am going to shift through my garage and see if I can't find an old cassette. I am a little surprised that they don't make a bracket for the furling . Does any one have a picture of the bracket they had before. My father in law has a machine shop and nothing but time.

Paul, I am not 100% sure, but I think the H18 adapter will work for the Getaway. It is available page 17 of the Murrays catalog.

I allways found tape of 45 and 60 minute length worked better and were stronger, with a preference for the type of tapes which one recorded on themselves. As for artists I had a realy fast Hendric life concert one
