Venting the hulls in a Getaway

I have a 2003 Getaway that I leave on the Beach. Do I ever have to be worried able leaving the corks out on the hulls to vent? I would like to keep in an screwed tight. With the way the transom is angled Ive been getting a little rain water in. Are there any vents in the hulls like the fiberglass 16s?. I tried to keep the deck ports in the cooler open, however the coolers are not watertight and don't want rain to get in the hulls. Great boat! Have had 3 fiberglass 16's before this one.

There are a number of places on the Getaway that should naturaly vent, so I don't think there is a problem leaving the plugs in.

Matt, when I removed the plugs from my hulls this weekend, there was no water just a big "woosh" of air out of the port hull. I remembered this post from last year about the venting of the hulls. Where are the venting points that you mentioned? And is there any concern about pressure building up in the rotomolded hulls?

If you are concerned... (don't think this is an issue with a rotomolded boat / flex won't hurt the construction like a glass boat would) you could drill a very small hole in the 5" port lid, inside the cooler.

after keeping my plugs in for a few months noticed that condinsation was forming in the hulls. I live in Florida and the boat is on the beach, high humidity and heat. On sunny days its still a good idea to pull the lids and plugs to get the air moving around to dry out. I like keeping the plugs in all the time since rain water does get in and its hard to get the water out via the lids. My coolers always get a little water in them during sailing so i won't put any holes in the lid. Once water does get in the hulls it is hard since the drain plugs are a little higher thatn the bottom of the boat.
