White water is not something we recommend for any Hobie kayak, so I can not comment on that type of use.

Although they are not designed for white water I am sure they are capable of something more than flat water. Thanks

Without a doubt! Great for rough water for sure. Biggest concern for moving water / rocks etc... is the MirageDrive and fins which are exposed below the keel.

I'm not exactly sure what the rapids are rated (certainly III or less) but I have had no trouble getting tossed around on the Kasilof and Upper Kenai River here in Alaska. The thing I am sure to do when traveling through rapids is continually pedal at a speed slightly faster than the water flow so that I maintain rudder control. I've only been dunked once and that was when I had a person sitting on the back of the Outback... once I hit turbulent water I had very little control presumably due to the back end and rudder far under and exposed to swirling currents. The Kenai is cooold in May.
